David Richard Timberlake

David Richard Timberlake, 75, of Chandler, AZ originally of Lancaster, OH, unexpectedly left this world on June 4th, 2014. By trade, Dave was a glass man. He began his corporate career with Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation in the late 60’s (Lancaster, OH) and left his mark on the glassware industry and closed the working chapter of his life as the President/Owner of TCB, Inc. in 1999 (Minneapolis, MN). He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church (in thought if not in deed), honorably discharged in 1962 from the Air National Guard, was an unwavering OSU Buckeye fan, a charming and articulate conversationalist , and an unquestioning supporter of his children and their puzzling non-profit world of animal rescue. David was born with a taste for cherry pie, casseroles, chicken tenders and Maker’s Mark with a water back. He loved sunshine, Starbuck’s coffee, beautiful deserts, the water, art in all forms, clocks, football (okay, well maybe any sport with a ball), making lists and Christmas lights. Dave had a quick wit. He reveled in friends and co-workers. The more he liked you - the more he teased. David loved to laugh. He was a conservative to his core. He didn’t like to read books but loved to read the newspaper. Dave fixed things. Dave could fix anything. He had an amazing collection of tools, caulk guns, gloves, label makers and a tool bench that would make any tinkerer drool. He organized everything. He loved to play blackjack and listened to the Four Freshman, Glenn Miller, The Bodyguard Soundtrack and country music. But most of all …David loved his girls – both the good one and the bad one. It depended on the day of the week as to which was which. His children loved him too. David is survived by his daughters Shari and Stephanie Timberlake of Minneapolis, MN, their mother, Linda Porter Timberlake of Reynoldsburg, OH, his niece Jennifer Lindahl of Jackson, MI and his nephews John (Beth) Boystel of Hebron, OH and Ben Simons of Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his sister Suzanne Simons, his parents H. Richard Timberlake and Evelyn Timberlake, and Grandparents C.M. and Pearl Timberlake and William and Florence Hanna. In lieu of flowers, feel free to consider a gift to one of David’s favorite charities. Believe or not, S.O.S. Rescue Relief, Inc. (his daughters’ non-profit) was not his only passion. He truly believed in the work of Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and The Pickering House in his hometown of Lancaster, OH. He would be pleased for support of any of the three. Hello Friends, My sister Shari and I wanted to let you know that we will be having a gathering of family and friends to celebrate our Dad’s life on Thursday, June 12th, 2014. We will begin with a small collection of memories at Legacy Funeral Home in Chandler, AZ at 6:00 pm and anticipate saying a closing prayer around 7:30 pm. As you all know – he wouldn’t want a fuss, but in an effort to always have the last word, my sister and I have decided to follow our hearts. Immediately following the gathering, our cousin Ben Simons has kindly offered to open his lovely home to all of us so we have a little time to nibble on chicken tenders, potato skins, cherry pie and maybe do a shot or two of Maker’s Mark. If we go the extra mile…we may even bring in some Starbucks and play the Ohio State fight song. If anyone in attendance would like to say a few words or share a story or two, we welcome your participation at Legacy. Please let Shari or I know at any time. Our plan is to host an event in keeping with our Dad’s style. To quote a dear friend, “the mold has been broken” so we encourage you to be yourselves. Casual attire preferred.
