Frank Bases

Frank Paul Bases, 89, from Chandler AZ passed away peacefully on January 4, 2016 Born in Brooklyn, NY on May 5,1926 to Frances and Rudolph Bases, Frank was an excellent student and a talented mathematician. He was proud of the fact that he graduated high school before he was seventeen. Over the course of his life, he enjoyed tutoring students in math. After serving in the army during World War II, Frank returned to NYC becoming an early pioneer in the auto industry at the Hudson Company as a sales representative. Frank later moved to Ohio to work for Babcock and Wilcox in the boiler industry. He retired from B&W after 35 years and moved to Florida. Frank and his loving wife of 64 years, Theresa, have spent the last 12 years in Phoenix, AZ residing near his daughter, Karen, and her loving family. His reputation for being a smart, honest, fair, hardworking man of high integrity, a man with a “don't mess with me attitude,” as well as being known for his loyalty as an employee, a business associate, and a friend were of great value to Frank. He always told us that family was important, keep one or two close friends at all times, always treat women like queens, love your wife, don’t curse because that just shows a lack of intelligence, work hard, think before you speak, don’t lie, own up to your mistakes, and always work harder, smarter, and better than the next guy. Frank loved to sing and perform and did so whenever possible. He would sing at church, on stage in a musical, or just out loud to make us feel good, comfort crying babies, or just because he could. He will be singing his way to heaven with his brothers, John and Albert, who left before him, surely preparing a place for him on Heaven’s stage! Frank is survived by his wife, Theresa, his 6 sons, Paul, Gary, Douglas, Michael, Thomas, Peter, and his only daughter, Karen, 15 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. Thank you, Dad, for man that you were, for what you provided, for what you taught, and for what you left behind. These gifts, your legacy, lives within each of us eternally. In lieu of flowers, family is asking to send Donations to Hospice of the Valley, 2020 E. Woodside Court, Gilbert AZ 85297 Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on January 8th at St. Stevens Catholic Church 24827 S. Dobson Road, Chandler AZ 85248 Celebration of Franks life will be held immediately following the Mass at The Gardens at Ocotillo 1601 W. Queen Creek Road Chandler, AZ 85248.
