James Robert Tuttle

James Robert Tuttle, passed away on Friday, April 19th, 2013 Deeply loved husband, proud to be called "Dad", "Grampa", and now "Grampie". He was a devoted son and older brother to two sisters. Slipped away after fighting the battle with heart that began 13 years ago after suffering his first heart attack. It was very peaceful with his wife by his side. He lived in Peoria, Arizona. Born on January 21st, 2013, in New York City (Manhattan) New York to "Dot" & Roy Tuttle. His passing has left a empty spot in his wife Carol (Grant) Tuttle, beloved Daughter Danyale and her husband Travis Strickler of Glendale, AZ, Son and his wife Kimberly Galardi. He was the Older brother to Nancy and her husband Jim Weiger of Olney, MD and Betty Edwards of Bethteda, MD. He was blessed with a blended family which now includes 13 living grand-children and 4 great-great grandsons. His love of Photography was also incorporated in his life to "create that Kodak moment". Inside he was the big kid who went for the toys and fun for appropriate birthday and holiday gifts. He would often say "they won't remember a pair of socks" when in later life he remembered that he had just paid for his $13.00 for his oldest grandson to get a pair of socks to match the T-Shirt. He loved to cook and bake both indoors and out doors. He really mastered the art of cooking on his barbeque with the hickory wood chips and charcoal. In 30 years of marriage only the size of the barbeque pot changed. The first Tuttle 1st barbeque was small and black. It was in a box left in front of our door we assumed as a late wedding gift. There was any card attached or in the box and we never found out who left it. Maybe it was mailed out to all new married couples well it worked because we always had the same type of Barbeque only the kettle grew in size and the attachments to be used in, on, and under the Barbeque. Once he was given a Red Barbeque for a birthday gift. During the years that his wife worked for Arizona State Attorney General's Office James was the "cook" the FOP Arizona Attorney General Office Bakers to Vegas run. FOP Arizona Attorney General's group would be set up in Pahrump, Nevada. By the time the runners got Pahrump they knew what they had in store for them. The last couple of years they would even radio in their orders so their order would be just right and ready as soon as they arrived. s instore. they were ready for the hamburgers and hot dogs, I held each year in Pahrump, Nevada. He also got into and really enjoy tia chi which he did with the "faithful" Arizona State Employees in the "capitol area" until it was disbanded. a birthday gift. loved talking with anyone who had a spare 5 minutes, enjoyed a good story or needed a friend. He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and loved all things military, especially his father. He also served his country proudly as a peacekeeper in Bosnia with the United States Army National Guard & Reserve's 116th Infantry Regiment. Most of all, he loved his wife and sons who brought him great, great joy. Throughout his life, Kim was a committed servant of God and friend to his Savior. He was an active member of Thompson Station Church in Thompson's Station, TN where he actively participated in the All Stages Sunday School class and The Hangar men's accountability group; and before that at First Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA his hometown for many years and where he attended high school and college. He is now with his Heavenly Father, whom we know is enjoying Kim's wonderful, and sometimes twisted, sense of humor. Kim will be missed terribly by his family and friends, but we know that today he is happy and whole and rejoicing. Memorial services for Kim will be conducted Tuesday at 6:30 P.M. in the Equppping Center of Thompson Station Church, Thompson's Station, TN. The family will visit with friends from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Monday and from 4:30 - 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday in the Greeting Room of the Worship Center of the church. Interment will be at the U.S. Military Cemetery in Culpeper, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be directed to the "Comptons Kicking Cancer" fund through any SunTrust Bank location or by contacting Jill Rosenberry, SunTrust Bank Spring Hill TN Branch Manager, at 615-302-2824.
