Pamala D Chennault

Pamela’s Life Story... Pamela was born on August 6, 1970 in Detroit, Michigan, to Kathryn and Adger Butler. The fourth and youngest of her siblings, she was always an active child. She truly enjoyed playing with her older siblings and friends. Always a bit of a showoff, in attempt to out-do her friends and big sister; she tried to do a flip off her front porch and ended up breaking her arm. That was the last flip Pam ever did. Pamela was baptized at an early age at Oak Grove Methodist Church in Detroit, Michigan. She attended Benedictine High School in Detroit graduating, in 1987. After high school, she attened Wayne County Community College, where her father taught. Pamela moved to Arizona in 1990. In Arizona, she became a nurse, had her daughter, Ashley, and married the love of her life, Stephen Chennault, Jr. They moved back to Detroit in 1995 when Ashley was four years old Pamela continued her nursing career in Detroit for several years. She began attending Lawrence Institute of Technology, in Southfield, Michigan, and focused on computer science and electrical engineering, while continuing to work as a nurse and taking care of her family. Pamela became ill and moved back to Arizona in 2000. She and Steve were separated and soon after they divorced. Pamela worked as a nurse to support herself and her daughter. Due to unyielding health problems, Pamela was deemed disabled. In 2006, she was blessed with a grandson, Julian Rome. Julian lovingly referred to Pamela as “Ma”, and she loved him dearly. She loved music, reading, and socializing. Often she spoke of wanting to care for her mother. They were very close. Pamela attended several different churches and eventually found a home at Sun Valley Community Church. She was an active member of several groups at Sun Valley, and participated in classes sponsored by Bible Study Fellowship. The bible study included weekly meetings with soul-searching questions that deepened her relationship with God. Towards the end of her life, she developed an even closer, deeper, stronger relationship with God. Suddenly and unexpectedly, on January 5, 2016, God sent his angels to carry Pamela home. Pamela’s going home has left mourning to her mother, Kathryn; her daughter, Ashley; her grandson, Julian; her siblings, Karen (Scott), Eric, Keith (Jennifer); nieces and nephews, Erica, Eric, Jr., Kadeejah, Miles, Shyeem, Jasmine, Keesawn, Nicholas; her grandmother, Mary; her step-mother, Beverly; her aunts, Barbara (Ted), Mary, and Earsella; her Uncle, Vander; and a host of cousins, and friends, which included her very close friend, Kittora. Pamela had a loving heart, she immensely enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends. She will truly be missed.
