Paul Purlia

Paul Gordon Purlia 63, cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, brother in law, uncle and friend went home to God on March 10, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley with his wife at his side. Paul was born on March 21, 1949 in Phoenix, AZ. He was the fourth child, the second generation Serbian, born to Etta Irene and George Lewis Purlia. Paul followed in his father’s footsteps and worked in food commodities until he started his own service and repair business. Paul loved the outdoors, especially camping. He loved the tempest of storms, heavy rain and lightening were his favorites. Paul loved history and was constantly learning more about our past. Paul’s greatest joy was his family! Paul never met a stranger, he loved to people watch and talk to everyone. Paul is survived by his devoted wife Dale Ann, children Allen Nampa, ID Elisa (Bill) Phoenix, AZ, Paul Scott (Carrie) Junction, Texas, grandchildren Sausha (Anthony) Roosevelt UT, Ericka (AJ) Blackfoot, ID, Justice, Hannah, Mason, Keegan, Lucas,4 great-grandchildren and 1 more boy on the way. Niece Nikki (Cris)Phoenix, AZ, whom he helped raise great niece Isabella, great nephew Benjamin, former step-son Trent Wilson, father George, sister Linda, brother Lewis, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His mother Irene, and brother Michael preceded him in death. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, beautiful smile, love of family, life and our Lord. He probably has all of the angels in heaven laughing with him. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held Saturday March 16 at 4: oo at 1813 W. Fairmount Ave. 85015. Funeral arrangements were provided by Legacy Funeral Services. A Memorial Service will be held March 17, 2013 at 2:00 at Scottsdale First Church of the Nazarene 2340 N, Hayden Road, Scottsdale Az 85257, with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley.
